GFDD/FUNGLODE at the IX International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2006
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, April 24, 2006

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) are participating in the IX International Book Fair being celebrated in Santo Domingo through May 7th, 2006. The Fair was inaugurated in the evening of April 24, with an artistic production called "Mezcla" presented in the Teatro Nacional. This inaugural event was lead by President Fernandez and the First Lady, as well as other Ministers and the Diplomatic Representatives of Argentina, country being honored this year. Mr. Marcio Veloz Maggiolo, on of the greatest Dominican writers of all times, was also present in the inaugural event. The Fair this year is dedicated to his literary work.

This is the ninth edition of this internationally renowned Book Fair, by far one of the most important cultural events in the Dominican Republic.

GFDD/FUNGLODE have a stand in the Fair where visitors can find all the publications made by the institutions, as well as access Dominicanaonline.org, the Portal of the Dominican Republic, product of GFDD/FUNGLODE.
