GFDD participates in seminar on the Spanish language as an economic asset Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, represented by Asunción Sanz, participated in the seminar that took place in Vitoria, Spain, to discuss the different ways the Spanish language can be considered and promoted and an economic asset. The seminar, an initiative of Virtual Educa (http://www.virtualeduca.org) gathered in the Basque capital, Vitoria, close to the small village of Valpuesta, where the first Spanish written texts were found, several experts from Spain, Latin America and Brazil in communications, international cooperation, the publishing sector, international organizations, universities and think tanks, who brought to the table their expertise and approach on how to promote the Spanish language and cultures as a desirable and productive economic asset in an inclusive and pro-active way. The discussions were broadcast live to all of Latin and Central America through the Association of Ibero-American Educational Televisions, ATEI (http://www.ateiamerica.com) for its Spanish initials, and could be followed on Internet by WebStream.The Declaration of Vitoria was issued (http://www.virtualeduca.org/vitoria2006)
