Portal Dominicanonline.org Participated in the Voting Carnival of “Arroba de Oro 2006”

Saturday, September 16th, 2006, Bella Vista Mall was in festivities with the Voting Carnival of the “Arroba de Oro 2006” (Golden @) 2006). People from all ages and different parts of Santo Domingo came to support the Portal Dominicanonline.org Web Site with their votes.
The Portal Dominicanonline.org Web Site was created and implemented by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) by an international and multidisciplinary team with the vision to promote the image of the Dominican Republic and to expand the knowledge on the country and strengthen the esteem and respect towards the country’s patrimony and its values. “Arroba de Oro 2006” (Golden @ 2006) is an international contest geared to find the best portal in the Latin Web as an incentive to the development of the Internet industry.
This activity began from early in the morning until 8:00 at night, organized by the Omnimedia Group, publishers of “Diario Libre.” Several hundreds of enthusiastic participants crowded the stage of Bella Vista Mall, bringing the festival of voting for the different competing Portals to a great success.
The Portal Dominicanonline.org promotional stand attracted the audience attention with diverse activities for the youngsters. While the children’s faces were being painted by clowns, their parents’ were able to emit their votes on with computers available at the stand. Creole treats, fans, bookmarkers and mouse pads were distributed among the visitors. The votes collected during this special event will be added to the on-going voting period which went from May until September 18, 2006.
