Global Media Arts Institute presents “Scripts”
New York, November 1st, 2006

GFDD/ FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute will host a workshop titled “Scripts” that will take place on November 3rd, in the FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo.  This workshop will take place with the collaboration of One Race Films and New York University’s Opportunities Program. The workshop will be imparted by Miguel Tejada Flores.

There will be three workshops/ conferences that will cover three different practical aspects for Movie Script Writers. Some of the topics that will be covered are:

  • “Powerful hooks”: the critical importance of the first 15 pages.
  • “Fascinate them for 90 minutes”: how to impactante create lead roles.
  • “Get me Brad Pitt”: rewrite of the script to get the actors you most want.
  • “In a sentence or less”: the importance of knowing how to pitch a movie.

And if time allows, there will be one last topic for science fiction and horror movie fans.

  • “Aaaaaaah”: secrets of writing a Latin horror movie.

“Scripts” will be imparted as a two day workshop, November 3rd from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. and November 4th from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. It will have a cost of RD $ 1,000.00. 

This workshop is part of many projects within the Global Media Arts Institute with the purpose of bringing the latest information and courses on cinematography to the film lovers in the Dominican Republic.
