II Art & Esthetic Education Congress
San Juan, Puerto Rico, November 13th, 2006.

The ASPIRA Foundation organized the Second Art and Esthetic Education Congress which took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico from November 10th – 12th.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development/ Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo had significant participation in the congress. Paul Goris, represented GFDD/ FUNGLODE in the congress and imparted a three hour workshop on the creation of digital narratives. During the workshop, some of the topics taught were the elementary concepts that should be taken into account when creating narrations, also all the participants of the workshop learned how to use a specific information tool that will allow them to combine multiple audiovisual elements such as: video, images, music and personal narration; this tool  was Microsoft Movie Maker 2.1.

The workshop had three main objectives:

• Understand what are digital narratives and their importance in the teaching point of view.
• Learn the appropriate methods for developing a small project that result in motivating and attractive narratives.
• Train in the use of technology, tools, and online resources available for the creation of digital narratives and its presentation in computerized audiovisual equipment and normal televisions.
