First National Young Entrepreneurs Contest
Santo Domingo, December 14th, 2006.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) in collaboration with the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR), the Ministry of State for Youth (SEJ for it’s name in Spanish) and the Corporation for Industrial Promotion (CFI for it’s Spanish name) held the award ceremony for the First National Young Entrepreneurs Contest (CONJE 2006 for it's name in Spanish). The ceremony took place in the FUNGLODE auditorium in Santo Domingo, Thursday December 14th, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.

Alfredo Dalmau, with his proposal "D&F Global Technological Management" was the first place winner in the contest. The other projects awarded were: 2nd place: Business Tech (Santiago Henríquez, José Luís Henríquez, Júnior Henríquez, Brenda Líz Gonzalez); 3rd place: Criollisimo Infusiones (Miguel Domínguez, Oscary Domínguez, Greymi Cruz, Mildred Guzmán, Ruth Victorino); 4th place: Yaritza Madera Creations (Yaritza Madera Paola Pérez) and 5th place: Language and Technology Institute (Jeifrey Estévez Buret, Otniel Salcedo Carvajal, Carlos José Falette, Carlos José Gil, Cristino Martínez).

The winners received prize money in form of starting capital to fund the beggninig of each project.  This was awarded by the Ministry of State for Youth.  The prizes were: RD $ 300,000 for first place, RD $ 200,00 for second and third place, and RD $ 150,000 for fourth and fifth place.

Even though the categories were free, the proposals based on technology focused on business were taken into special consideration for implementation.
