Dominican Food Festival The Dominican Republic’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations are holding the Dominican Food Festival in the United Nations Delegates' Dining Room, featuring the foods of the Dominican Republic. This festival will take place from February 20th – 23rd, 2007. It was launched with an inauguration cocktail on February 20th. The Mission invited the wonderful chef Mike Mercedes, from the Dominican Republic to prepare all meals that will represent the country in the festival. Every year, the United Nations hosts these food festivals from member states and this is the first time that the Dominican Republic is participating. Every day, the Delegates dining room will be open for lunch for the public to enjoy a buffet prepared by the renowned chef. The participation of GFDD in these briefings is part of the commitment to the promotion and dissemination of information on UN activities programs.
