PROFESSOR JAUME SARRAMONA INTRODUCES THE EVALUATION BASED ON BASIC COMPETENCIES

Invited by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, Autonomous University of Barcelona Professor, Jaume Sarramona, led a four-day seminar on evaluation based on basic competencies.
FUNGLODE's offer of this introduction to student evaluation based on basic competencies rose high expectations among curriculum and senior officers from the basic and higher education ministries.

The seminar included the introduction to basic concepts, curricular development and hands-on examples on how to use and bring in basic competencies instead of theoretical knowledge. Participants in the training program were exposed to new methodologies teachers can use to make knowledge acquired in schools more suitable to daily life and challenges.
Dr. Sarramona has brought the evaluation based on competencies to several countries like Mexico , Paraguay and others in Europe . This methodology is based on the premises adopted by the OECD under the Program for International Student Assessment, or PISA , which calls for regular competitions among countries in which each country scores in a world ranking.
