EXPERT ON PHILANTHROPY TRAINED 40 NGO'S FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Dr. Lilya Wagner, Vice President of Philanthropy at Counterpart International dictated the course “Principles and components for a fundraising strategy” to 40 NGOs representatives from the Dominican Republic. The course was coordinated in collaboration with Alianza ONG and CEMEX Foundation from the Dominican Republic.

The one-day course was dictated in FUNGLODE’s auditorium in Santo Domingo. Dr. Lilya explained key topics for the development of an efficient fundraising program, such as basic principles, communication strategies and components for the planning and implementation of a program. Also, the course included a series of practical group exercises among the participants. Additionally, a series of articles and background material was provided to the students. All the students filled in comprehensive evaluation on the course, the methodology and relevance of the topic. Evaluations indicated that 85% of them viewed themselves as ready to design and implement a fundraising program on their own.

FUNGLODE-GFDD, Alianza ONG and CEMEX foundation aim at coordinating more editions of these course. Their objective is to improve the NGOs management and impact in society through a series of training activities.
