TEACHERS FROM CENTRAL AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN WILL BE TRAINED UNDER "PEER COACHING" FOR THE USE OF TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS TO IMPROVE LEARNING IN THE CLASSROOM

Thirty teachers from Costa Rica, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic participated in the training workshop opened October 31 that went on until November 4, at Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, FUNGLODE.

The program "Peer Coaching" is part of Microsoft's initiative, Partners in Learning, represented in the Dominican Republic by FUNGLODE. The purpose of "Peer Coaching" is to bring support to the teachers, training them in the use of technological tools integrated in the curriculum with the goal of facilitating the learning process of the students.

Other institutions collaborating in this initiative are the National Institute for Teacher Training (INAFOCAN for its acronym in Spanish,) The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications, the consortium of NGOs devoted to education, Alianza ONG, and the Technological Institute of the Americas.
