AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION IN SUPPORT OF SOCIAL CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WAS SIGNED JANUARY 24, 2006
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. January 24 th, 2006.

An agreement of cooperation was signed in Santo Domingo on January 24 among the main organizations and associations representing Dominican civil society, private sector, public sector and international organizations, including Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, FUNGLODE, and Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, GFDD, to coordinate, support, and strengthen a national social corporate responsibility strategy.

This agreement of cooperation is the result of a year-long effort to bring together all the different players interested and involved in the adoption of a national strategy of social corporate responsibility that will synchronize efforts and consolidate initiatives with the objective of having a more effective impact, optimizing the expected results and contributing to the competitivity of the country.

The organizations and associations signing this agreement will cooperate in publicizing different aspects of corporate social responsibility and its impact in society, educating and recruiting potential partners in the effort, and suggesting and proposing strategies favoring and promoting socially responsible policies.

FUNGLODE/GFDD have been advocating and promoting this initiative since its inception, introducing the concept and shaping this agreement.
