The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) aims at the development-friendly integration of developing countries into the world economy. FUNGLODE's association with this organization will bring about a chance to discuss trade development issues and share the Dominican experience with other participants at UNCTAD's forum for intergovernmental discussions and deliberations in Geneva. NGOs with Consultative Status have the privilege to be the only institutions in civil society to address the Governments in the Institution. |

The World Summit on the Information Society is committed to build a people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented Information Society, where everyone can create, access, utilize and share information and knowledge, enabling individuals, communities and peoples to achieve their full potential in promoting their sustainable development and improving their quality of life, premised on the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and respecting fully and upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. FUNGLODE has joined the Summit on the Information Society in its commitment to promote and support information technologies and attempt to reduce the digital gap. Our Foundation had already chaired the Bureau of Civil Society in its first phase. |

The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is responsible for promoting higher standards of living, full employment, and economic and social progress; identifying solutions to international economic, social and health problems; facilitating international cultural and educational cooperation; and encouraging universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. FUNGLODE's affiliation received the approval of 54 countries for its ability and ample experience and dedication to research and discuss global issues that involve the well-being of Dominicans and the sustainable development of the country. |

Université |
This private university has been operating in Haiti since 1988. It offers several Master and PhD programs and provides students with the high quality education that necessary to face Haiti's challenges. Université Quisqueya is also part of the International Center for Environmental and Sustainable Development Studies, ICESDeS, after signing a collaborative agreement with FUNGLODE/GFDD and University of Turabo. |

The University of Turabo wants to provide students with an ample academic base that will facilitate the development of their capabilities to improve their lives and those of the community and the Puerto Rican society at large. With an ever-growing number of Master programs in different aspects of education, business administration, engineering, the University of Turabo wants to train students to understand the challenges of contemporary Puerto Rico and to provide them with the necessary tools to bring about change and improvement. Universidad of Turabo signed a collaborative agreement with FUNGLODE/GFDD and Université Quisqueya of Haiti to establish the International Center for Environmental and Sustainable Development Studies, ICESDeS, in September 2004. |

The Earth Institute at Columbia University brings together talent from throughout the University to address complex issues facing the planet and its inhabitants, with particular focus on sustainable development and the needs of the world's poor. The Earth Institute is motivated by the belief that science and technological tools already exist, and could be expanded, to greatly improve conditions for the world's poor while preserving the natural systems that support life on Earth. FGDD/GFDD has an agreement of cooperation with the Institute to work on the UN Millennium Development Goals. |

The University Consortium Ana G. Méndez, ( Sistema Universitario Ana G. Méndez ) SUAGM, is a private institution of higher education with 21,000 students, based in Puerto Rico. The Consortium is composed of three universities, the University of Turabo, Metropolitan University and University of the East, in ten different locations and one telecommunications and distance education center. For 50 years, SUAGM has been dedicated to providing quality education to all layers of Puerto Rican society. On January 2004, FGDD/GFDD signed an agreement of cooperation with SUAGM to pursue activities in fields of common interest to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. |

Baylor University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the state of Texas and the largest Baptist university in the world. Baylor has grown to more than 14,000 students, and its nationally recognized academic divisions provide baccalaureate degree programs at the undergraduate, masters and doctorate levels. Baylor University also supports the Baylor Institute for Air Science (BIAS) whose mission is to foster stewardship of the environment through research, public service and the education of a new generation of scientist-pilots dedicated to environmental research. BIAS interacts with government and university officials world-wide regarding programs that use biomass fuels in aircraft and air quality monitoring programs using instrumented aircraft. BIAS conducts conferences, seminars and demonstrations on critical issues of air pollution, the development of renewable transportation fuels and the imperatives concerning environmental stewardship. |

The UN Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR) is a non governmental NGO whose mandate is to strengthen the participation of the Dominican people in the UN system. The activities coordinated by UNA-DR target equally the private and the public sector. The program with the biggest impact is the "Model UN" conferences. These conferences consist of interactive simulations of the commissions, committees, agencies and other programs of the UN a well as other regional and international institutions. The students who participate in the simulation act as representatives from the Member States of the particular organization and defend the position of the ambassadors of those countries, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe . UNA-DR is part of the World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA) and its offices are in Santo Domingo and in New York .
