DR Global Film Festival

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) are proud to annually host the DR Global Film Festival in Santo Domingo.

Every year, the DR Global Film Festival will showcase an attractive and tasteful selection of international and local fiction movies and documentaries under the “Global Issues, Personal Stories” umbrella.

The Festival’s mission encompasses a series of ambitious targets, from promoting the Dominican Republic as a venue of interest within the global filmmaking industry, fostering an appreciation and understanding of the art of film, enhancing public awareness of the topics selected, to the enjoyment and recognition of the presented pictures..

The DR Global Film Festival also includes professional development workshops, educational programs for the general public, and activities targeted to schools, colleges, universities and marginalized communities..

The first DR Global Film Festival edition will take place in Santo Domingo during the second week of November 2006.
