Virtual Educa Caribe

Virtual Educa Caribe, with headquarters in the Dominican Republic, was launched during the closing ceremony of the VI Virtual Educa International Forum in Mexico City, on June 24, 2005 Virtual Educa is an innovative initiative in education, professional development and continuing education providing a space for the exchange of experiences, success stories, and to design projects associated with the impact that ICT has in our society.

Its mission is to establish and foster collaboration between public, private and non-governmental sector within the Ibero-American world with the aim to study and exchange experiences and spread good practices that showcase how, through a synergy of efforts, it is possible to train human resources in information and communication technology, introduce them successfully and efficiently into the labor force, promote innovation, and contribute to the sustainable development at the same time. The program seeks to create new alliances at domestic and international level, spark the multiplication and expansion of successful practices, and create the conditions for permanent collaboration and exchange.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) identify themselves with the aims of Virtual Educa, and are proud to be the regional hosts of the Caribbean chapter of the program.
