PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS

Cooperative Programs with the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT)

FUNGLODE and its sister institution in the U.S., GFDD, signed an agreement with the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) to create programs in the Dominican Republic directed to young entrepreneurs and focused on promoting economic growth, social equity, job creation, and poverty alleviation.

This collaboration will foster youth entrepreneurship in the Dominican Republic and through specific programs help support and create innovation, promote the exchange of information and expertise, organizational linkages, and collaboration among those individuals, organizations, and entities that are working to strengthen youth entrepreneurship.

In the Dominican Republic and as part of this agreement, FUNGLODE and YABT have been collaborating in the coordination of several multinational dialogues focusing on the key issues related to entrepreneurship in the country.

Thanks to a collaboration agreement signed with the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN), multipoint videoconferences with participants from various countries in the Western Hemisphere are held on a regular basis, with the purpose to:

•  Transfer knowledge and experiences from other countries in Latin American in areas relevant to business entrepreneurship
•  Create synergies among institutions working on the same areas within the Dominican Republic and with other countries
•  Encourage the replication and application of successful practices in business entrepreneurship

Other institutions in the Dominican Republic that participate in the initiative are the Ministry of Youth, Program for Small, Medium and Micro Businesses at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Association of the United Nations of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR).
