IberFuturo Foundation
Ibero-America, a project with future

IberFuturo
The InterFuturo Foundation was officially presented 20th June 2006 at the VII International Virtual Educa Meeting in Bilbao.

The current President of the IberFuturo Foundation is Dr. Leonel Fernández, president of the Dominican Republic.

The general framework of action is the following:


Management of the Virtual Educa Program, with special emphasis on the following points:

•  Implementation within the strategic framework of action of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) for education and innovation (entrusted to Virtual Educa by the Directive Committee at the 69 th general meeting).

•  Latin-American Institute for Virtual Training – Initiative: “Training and Development: a Latin-American Proposal” and seminar regarding Training, Innovation, Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development. In association with the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) [Washington, DC], Madrid Community (CAM), etc.

•  Ibero-American Virtual Network of Educational Centers and the Educational Latin-American Mediateca – “School XXI” initiative. In association with: Latin-American Educational Communications Institute (ILCE) [Mexico DF], Association of Ibero-American Educative Television, Telefonica Foundation [Madrid and Latin American headquarters], National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), University of Guadalajara (UDG) [Mexico], etc.

•  Ibero-American Education, Training and Innovation Observatory . In association with the OEI Observatory, UNESCO/UNAM, Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Quality in Higher Distance Education (CAL-ED), etc.

•  Scheduling of meetings, forums and Latin American seminars regarding education, on-going training, innovation, cooperation and development (Annual International Virtual Educa Meeting, Iberform Casa de América, national Virtual Educa forums and seminars, etc.)

Search for innovative financing solutions and access to education, professional and on-going training in developing regions for communities at-risk of social exclusion, such as migrants.

Carrying-out of multilateral projects : OAS, BID, World Bank, European Commission, etc. The Ibero-American Foundation will serve as a technical assistance office to carry out priority programs and acts of transnational cooperation.

Development of the initiative: “Sp@nish, an Active Strategy for Latin America ”. Together with the Association For Promoting Spanish as an Economic Resource (E/RE) – EduEspaña [Madrid], Complutense Institute of International Studies (ICEI), Inter-American Consortium for Distance Education [Miami], etc.

Organization of the diffusion of acts. Carrying-out of studies and reports.
