GFDD and FUNGLODE to celebrate Caribbean Baseball series
Santo Domingo, February 4-7, 2012

The Caribbean Series, is the highest baseball tournament at club level in Latin America . The league winners from the Winter Leagues of Dominican Republic, Mexico , Puerto Rico and Venezuela participate in the tournament. It is hosted at each country every four years and is normally played in February after all the leagues have ended their national tournaments. This year the event will be hosted by Dominican Republic , and GFDD and FUNGLODE plan to organize an event in celebration of this major event in conjunction with Rob Ruck, film producer from The Republic of Baseball fame.

Conference “The Dominican Republic 50 Years After Trujillo,” with Dr. Howard Wiarda
Santo Domingo, February 6, 2012

GFDD will present the conference “The Dominican Republic 50 Years After Trujillo,” in partnership with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Washington, DC. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Howard Wiarda, Dean Rusk Professor of International Relations at the University of Georgia, Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and Senior Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center.

The event will take place Monday, February 6 at 7:00 pm at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

InteRDom Participate in 2012 AAPLAC Conference
February 15-18, 2012

InteRDom has confirmed its attendence to the 23rd Association of Academic Programs in Latin America & the Caribbean this coming Febrary. The 2012 Conference, which this year takes place in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, will this year be centered around the theme of "The Study Abroad Experience in Latin America: An opportunity to Create Social Awareness".

During the event InteRDom representatives will be networking with international educators, study abroad professionals and on-site program coordinators, they will participate in the 13 sessions detailed in the conference program, and also in the Conference Workshop “Using the Standards of Good Practice to Develop and Manage High Quality Programs.”
