Seminar on Climate Change
Santo Domingo, May 21 - 24th, 2007

GFDD/FUNGLODE will be hosting a four day seminar on Climate Change, Monday, May 21 – Thursday, May 24, 2007, at FUNGLODE’s auditorium in Santo Domingo.

This seminar is the first one of a series of three that will take place this year under the CIEMADeS program , under the title “Climate Change: Its Impacts and What We Can Do About It.” The seminar will center around issues such as: the Economics of Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security, Extreme Weather, and Advocacy. In addition to featuring presentations by prominent international and Dominican experts, the seminar will also feature, for the first time in the Dominican Republic, the premier of the following films: “Too Hot Not to Handle,” directed by Terence Young, and “Pole to Pole,” directed by Roger Mills and Clem Vallance.

This event is part of GFDD/FUNGLODE’s ongoing mission to make up-to-date information on pressing environmental issues accessible to a wide audience, increasing public awareness, and promoting advocacy.
