Comedies, Action, Special Guests and More at Upcoming Dominican Film Showcase

November 3, 2015

The Dominican Film Showcase will return to D.C. from November 19th to the 21st. Three films will be shown during the weekend, including Los paracaidistas, Yo soy la salsa, and Código Paz.

In Los paracaidistas, directed by Archie López, a group of friends decide to break the record of going to a hundred parties uninvited…as party crashers. In the process, without realizing it, they risk their jobs,
their friendships, and even love. Yo soy la salsa follows the life of Johnny Pacheco, whom we know as one of the great musical legacies responsible for the salsa genre. In Código Paz, Pedro Ruíz lives a double life. During the day, he is a real estate agent with a large company and at night he and his neighborhood friend Wellington, rob the same properties he sold. Pedro thinks he’ll get rich before he turns 30… until he robs the wrong
house.

Los paracaidistas will be screened on November 19th, and feature Cheddy García as a special guest along with a cocktail hour after the film. Yo soy la salsa will be screened on the 20th, and Código Paz on the 21st, each with their own special
guest. All of the films will be shown at the Art Museum of the Americas in D.C. at 6 p.m.
