April 8, 2014

On Saturday May 3, 2014, GFDD and FUNGLODE  will partner along with the Dominican Embassy to the White House on Cultural Tourism DC’s annual Passport DC program. The activity, which sees fifty embassies open their doors to thousands of Washington, D.C. visitors and residents alike marks a global celebration for a metropolitan city.

Billed as an "Around the World Embassy
Tour
", Passport DC has proven to be an effective platform to present the Foundations’ work to the general public. GFDD’s programs in the fields of environment, education, technology, internships, fellowships, cultural heritage and public policies will be showcased at a booth located at the Dominican Republic Embassy, 1715 22nd Street, NW,Washington, D.C., 20008 between 10-4 pm. There will also be ample
opportunity to view and purchase the organizations cultural and educational publications from the Research and Ideas book series, New Perspectives: Dominican Republic, and the Dominican Republic Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment.

In the six years since the inception of Cultural Tourism, DCs Passport program, it
continues to gather more organizations with each event. In addition to the embassy visits, participants can enjoy street festivals and special performances, "traveling the globe" as they experience the food, art, dance, and music of different countries.

Working in partnership with local government, business, and tourism agencies, Passport DC hopes to deliver memorable experiences and learning opportunities in the
areas of heritage, international exchange, and humanities. All activities, and embassy admissions are free and open to the public.
