Apply Now for the InteRDom Summer 2010 Session

December 7, 2009

Applications are now open for the InteRDom Super Summer 2010 program, the most popular of all of the programs InteRDom offers.  Applicants are encouraged to turn in their resume and cover letter early so as not to miss out on the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic and intern with one of InteRDom’s over 350 affiliated organizations. The deadline for submission is April 1, 2010.

An initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), InteRDom recently revised its program offerings and is now has three available options for students wishing to travel during the summer months, all of which include an internship in a local or
international organization.

Undergraduate students may choose the academic semester, which begins in May and features a variety of course offerings at a local partner university for 6-10 credits, or the Caribbean summer,  a condensed program from June-August that features one or two courses on Caribbean culture and Spanish language tailored to InteRDom students.

Graduate and gap-year students may focus exclusively
on their internship and research projects through InteRDom’s program for graduate and gap year students.  InteRDom works to create the ideal setting for each student to conduct research or develop important skills in their trade, while at the same time contributing to the overall social and economic development of the Dominican Republic.

Perhaps one of the most exciting features of all InteRDom summer programs is the HOT Caribbean
Seminar series.   Seminars feature recent topics of great importance in the region, and are given in partnership with at least one other local or international institution.  All seminars are open to the public and represent an excellent opportunity for cultural exchange, gathering students from the Dominican Republic, the United States and Haiti.
