Discussing the Environmental Dimension of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda

GFDD participated in the United Nations Environment Programme”s (UNEP”s) round table discussion and consultation ahead of the UN Environment Assembly on "Delivering the Environmental Dimension of the UN”s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda." The event took place on 17 March 2016 at the United Nations Foundation in Washington, D.C.

As an accredited organization of UNEP, GFDD and approximately 20 other selected stakeholders discussed
relevant issues of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals’ Agenda and its environmental dimension, analyzing the critical linkage between the environment, public health and sustainability.

Patricia Beneke, Regional Director for UNEP in North America, and Scott Fulton, President of the Environmental Law Institute cohosted and moderated the consultation, compiling participant’s suggestions to be presented at the United Nations Environment Assembly, to be
held in May 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya.
