GDLN Ordinary Meeting

GFDD/ FUNGLODE in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP for its name in Spanish) will be the host of the fourth Global Development Learning Network – GDLN Ordinary Meeting. This is the first time the Dominican Republic hosts a
GDLN event. This event, which will take place from December 11th to the 13th, in the FUNGLODE headquarters, has as a primary objective the definition of policys and procedures that will strengthen the training and distance education programs, that the Network develops.

   

Some of the topics that will be debated and analyzed are:

  • The mass distribution of distance education so that it can reach rural areas of each country, including projects that set to close the digital breach.
  • The analysis of cooperation methods between specialist
    and university professors.
  • The financing challenges that the GDLN has to raise funds for social development project execution.
 

The formal inauguration of the activity will be December 12th at 9:00 a.m. after the inauguration act, which is open to the public; the participating countries
will begin sessions behind closed doors. The closing ceremony will be December 13th at 5:45 p.m. and will be followed by dinner and folklore ballet show.

   

The GDLN is conformed of university representatives, investigation centers, foundations and government agencies of various
Latin American countries, United States and Spain. Some of the countries participating in this GDLN ordinary meeting are: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Venezuela, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Dominican Republic.
