GFDD, FUNGLODE, and Dominican Week in USA Sign Agreement of Understanding

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Foundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) signed an Agreement of Understanding with the Organizing Committee for the “Dominican Week in USA and Puerto Rico”.  The agreement establishes that these institutions
will work together in various activities for the Dominican community abroad.

The document was signed by Natasha Despotovic, Executive Director of GFDD and Luis Heredia Bonetti, representing the Organizing Committee of “Semana Dominicana”.

The agreement also points out that these institutions have been actively contributing to the interaction of the Dominican Diaspora and national leadership so both these
groups can help strengthen the influence of Dominicans in high levels of the United States.

GFDD/ FUNGLODE commit to elaborating action plans that will facilitate the execution of public policies, which will offer answers to national problems, applying a multidiscipline focus for the benefits of Dominican citizens residing abroad.   Some of these plans are: conferences, panels and/ or workshops in New York, Washington, etc.

Also, GFDD/ FUNGLODE have manifested their interest in cooperating with the “Dominican Week” organization developing panels, conferences and round tables that will take place within the activities of “Dominican Week”.

Luis Heredia Bonetti expressed, after the signing of the agreement, that he hopes that “this cooperation be the beginning of a long collaboration relationship for such and
important project that is “Dominican Week”, which it’s main focus is to promote the values of the Dominican community.”

Natasha Despotovic said on behalf of GFDD/ FUNGLODE that “we feel very honored to be part of this wonderful initiative in the United States and Dominican Republic.” She also added that “we want to support with all our efforts, experience and excellent human resources,
this wonderful initiative to promote the country, it’s image and it’s values and prestige.”

Frederic Emam-Zadé, Executive Director of FUNGLODE, Maria Elizabeth Rodriguez, Projects Director of FUNGLODE, Esther Aristy, DR-CAFTA Studies Center Coordinator, and Luis Fernandez Collado, Head of Communications and Internet Department of FUNGLODE, were also present at the agreement ceremony.
