GFDD/Funglode Fellow to Present During the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week

January 17, 2019

As part of the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week, GFDD/Funglode Fellow Dr. Christina Davidson will present her recent publication “Analysis of Evangelical Christianity in the Dominican Republic” at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

The book, formally presented at the headquarters of la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) in Santo Domingo in November, provides a glance at two historical protestant churches with great presence in the DR: the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the Dominican Evangelical Church.

According to the research, the history of the Evangelical Church in the Dominican Republic reflects the popular understanding of a unified identity among evangelical Christians, despite many differences among their beliefs and practices. This reflection and much more will be presented during the panel discussion and book release in New York that will take place from 1:00pm to 2:15pm on Friday, February 1, 2019. The event will be held in Room 7 of the United Nations Headquarters, 405 East 42nd Street, New York, NY, 10017.

Registration for this free event is required. Please email un@globalfoundationdd.org by January 25, 2019 for a UN Ground Pass.
