GFDD/Funglode to Host UN Panel Discussion on Financing Tools for Reducing Social Inequalities during CSocD54

To advance the commitments made during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) in 2015, to reduce inequalities in the global social development and to care for the future of our planet GFDD/Funglode along with the NGO Committee on Social Development and the NGO Committee on Financing for Development will host an interactive debate on Thursday February 4, 2016 from 1.15pm to 2.30pm at the United Nations Conference Room E.

During this CSocD54 side event the experts will discuss how each stakeholder in the development arena can use the tools of financing for development to help overcome current and upcoming climate change challenges and make the Addis Ababa Agenda a reality.

The fifty fourth session of the UN
Commission for Social Development will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 3 to 12 February 2016. The priority theme of the conference will be “Rethinking and strengthening social development in the contemporary world”, and it will take into account a note from the UN Secretariat on ‘Emerging Issues: Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: moving from commitments to results for achieving social
development’.
