GFDD to Attend UNA USA Annual Meeting in Washington DC, in its capacity as Executive Committee Member – June 8, 2014

June 3, 2014

On June 8, 2014, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will join other committee members of the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA USA) for their 2014 Annual Meeting. The theme of this year’s meeting will be “Mobilizing for the World We Want”.

Marc Jourdan, UN Representative for GFDD, will be attending in his capacity as Executive Committee Member of UNA USA’s Council
of Organizations.

The Annual Meeting brings together UNA USA members from across the country for skills trainings, issue briefings, networking opportunities, and capacity-building. Each year, the meeting culminates with Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill; last year, more than 120 meetings took place between UNA-USA members and their members of Congress discussing the importance of a strong U.S.-UN relationship. The event is an opportunity for GFDD to learn from and network with
other US-based foundations interested in nurturing their relationship with the United Nations and identify opportunities for advancing the Post 2015-Development Agenda.

The meeting will be a three day event starting at 9am on Sunday June 8 at the National Education Association in Washington DC and ending with Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill on Tuesday June 10.
