More than 450 Dominican Students Will Be Participating at the NYDRMUN 2016

The United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic in collaboration with Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode), held the opening ceremony of the eleventh edition of the Dominican Republic Model United Nations in New York (NYDRMUN 2016) at the Hotel Grand Hyatt.

The ceremony was attended by more than 450 participants from the Dominican Republic who will meet for working sessions
until Wednesday March 30, 2016. The event’s central theme will be "Strengthening alliances to achieve the objectives of sustainable development.”

NYDRMUN 2016 will count with the participation of more than 450 students, parents, and teachers of schools and high schools from both the Dominican Republic and the United States, who will be discussing hot topics in two of the official languages of the United Nations: Spanish and English. Equally,
NYDRMUN 2016 will feature the new simulation UN4MUN procedure designed along with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations.

The participants will have the opportunity to see the results of their work presented at the General Assembly Hall of the UN, and vote draft resolutions from the seats of the official representatives of the 193 Member States of the United Nations on Wednesday, March 30.
