President of GFDD to Participate in Communications and Governance Seminar at George Washington University

Former President of the Dominican Republic and current President of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, and its sister organization in the DR, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, (FUNGLODE), Leonel Fernandez, will participate in a George Washington University (GWU) seminar entitled:  "Political Communication and Campaigns: Winning Strategies and
Governance." 
The seminar is scheduled for November 15 & 16 in the nation’s capital, Washington, DC.

The Seminar, hosted by GWU’s prestigious Political Science Graduate School, will focus on issues such as Presidential and Government Communication, Crisis and Political Scandals, Electoral Control, Strategies and Advertising, Negotiation in Politics, Leadership, Political
and Public Campaigns.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced political leaders and renowned academics and become familiar with sophisticated tools in the field of public opinion related to communication strategies, marketing as well as electoral and government
campaigns. They will also hear about using techniques like clearly communicating ideas and motives to carry out successful public policies and Government plans.

Speakers include Leonel Fernández, President of the Dominican Republic from 1996-2000 and 2004-2012,  and current President of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development  (GFDD) and Fundación Global
Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE); Margarita Zavala, First Lady of Mexico during the Presidency of Felipe Calderón (2006-2012); Ivonne Ortega, vastly experienced Mexican politician; Luis Miranda, Director of Hispanic Media at the White House;Lionel
Sosa
, independent Marketing consultant; Kathleen Schafer, specialist with 20+ years experience in the development of effective leadership skills; Bill Greener, founding partner of the Greener and Hook consulting firm; Alberto García Sarubbi, Director of information at the Mexican Federal Electoral
Institute; Ralph Murphine, President of the Board of Advisors of the Mexican Institute for Political Communication and Board of Advisors of the Mexican Inter-American Geopolitical Center; Javier Calderón, Managing Director at CMIIG since 2006 and Rubén M. Perina, Professor at the George Washington and Georgetown
Universities.
