Pura Vida Aplatanada: Dominican Films Go to Costa Rica!

Every Tuesday from January 23rd to February 20th, Costa Ricans and the Dominican diaspora living in San José will be able to enjoy some of the best Dominican films, including: Dólares de Arena, Death by a Thousand Cuts, La Familia ReynaLa Lucha de Ana and Cristo Rey.

The opening film is Dólares de Arena and will be screened on
Tuesday, January 23rd at 8:30pm at Cine Magaly (located in Calle 23, Barrio La California, San José). The rest of the screenings will be held at Centro de Cine (Barrio Amón, Avenida 9, calle 11). All screenings are free and open to the public.

These events are a joint effort of GFDD/Funglode with the Dominican Embassy in Costa Rica, DGCine (DR Film Commission), and the Centro Costarricense de Producción Cinematográfica, among other local partners, with the aims of
showcasing a sample of the best films produced recently in the Dominican Republic, by Dominican filmmakers, about Dominican and global topics.
