The Fifth Annual Conference of the Dominican Republic Model UN in NYC

For the fifth year, the Dominican Republic Association of the United Nations is offering Dominican nationals, and members of the Diaspora in the United States, the opportunity to partake in the United Nations System by means of the Dominican Model United Nations in New York (NYDRMUN 2007). The event will draw 500 students from various high schools and universities in the Dominican Republic and the United States together to debate issues of global concern such as: the Crisis
in Somalia, International Cooperation Against Corruption, and Issues of Sustainable Development.

The NYDRMUN will take place April 18 – 22, at both the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and the New York UN Headquarters in Manhattan. This event will be sponsored by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the UN The City
University of New York, and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
