GFDD Presents Book on Sustainable Development at International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2015

GFDD presented “Towards Sustainable Development and the Green Economy in the Dominican Republic: National and International Context, Legislation and Practical Guide for the Home and Office,” at the XVIII International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2015, held April 23 through May 4.

María Victoria Abreu, International Affairs and Socio-Economic Development Program Manager for GFDD, shared with the audience the fundamental
results and content of the book, generating an entertaining and interesting discussion on sustainable development and the responsibility of everyone to contribute toward achieving it in the Dominican Republic. She also told participants that the publication is available in digital and audio-book versions. The event took place on Tuesday April 28 at 4:00 PM in the GFDD/FUNGLODE pavilion at the International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2015.

The International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2015 is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Culture and General Directorate of the Book Fair. GFDD and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode), participated again this year with various presentations of their publications, as well as cultural activities and information about the different programs and
initiatives they undertake to promote academic and cultural exchange, sustainable, social, and economic development in the Dominican Republic.

The 2015 Book Fair was privileged to have Panama as its Country Guest of Honor. This year’s Book Fair was dedicated to the late Dominican writer, Domingo Moreno Jiménes.
