New York International Latino Film Festival

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) participated in the New York International Latino Film Festival that took place in midtown Manhattan, July 24-27, 2007.
 
The New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) is the premier Urban Latino film event in the country. The NYILFF’s mission
is to showcase the works of the hottest emerging Latino filmmaking talent in the U.S. and Latin America, offer expansive images of the Latino experience and celebrate the diversity and spirit of the Latino community. Programming includes the flagship film festival in NYC, new music and art showcases, family and community events, scholarships for aspiring filmmakers and a nationally recognized short film competition in partnership with HBO.
 
During NYILFF, GFDD representative, Patricia Brito, presented the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF), highlighting the Festival’s objectives as well as potential films to be presented during this year’s festival, scheduled to take place November 14 – 18, 2007, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
 
DRGFF seeks to raise awareness and deepen understanding of global issues, while
bringing the best of international narrative and documentary film to the Dominican Republic as part of its overall mission to actively contribute to shaping and enhancing the nation’s film culture.
