The Community Affairs and Education Initiative Assistant plays an important role in the planning and organization of various activities and events supporting the mission of the Education Initiative Program, which is to enhance the level of education of all Latin American players, taking in consideration their unique educational backgrounds based on country-specific and individual factors. This internship is a great opportunity
for students interested in sports management, education, international business and community development.

Last summer this internship was performed by University of Miami student, Alexandria Rogers, who also participated in our Correspondent Program, where she post bi-monthly blogs, not only about her internship experience at MLB, but about cultural activities and excursions, her impressions of the Dominican culture and the daily life of an international student in the
Dominican Republic.

This is just one of the many exciting internships available this summer through the InteRDom program, which offers undergraduate, gap year and graduate students the opportunity to take part in internships at a Dominican organization for 25 – 35 hours per week. Students can also take courses at the university affiliated to the program, Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), for which they would receive academic credit.

InteRDom, an
initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain
professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
