GFDD and FUNGLODE Will Host Cocktail to Celebrate Launch of Photo Expo at UN Headquarters in NYC

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic, is presenting the photography exhibit New Perspectives: Dominican Republic, at the United Headquarters in New
York City, in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the Millennium Development Goals. The exhibit celebrates the country’s success in achieving economic, social, environmental and democratic advancement and promotes continued progress in all areas of sustainable development.

The exhibit will be held from September 20 until October 1, 2010, in the North Lawn Building on the first floor. 

In celebration of the launch of the exhibit,
the organizing institutions will host a Cocktail on Monday, September 20.
 
About the Exhibit

The exhibit New Perspectives: Dominican Republic will showcase aerial images of the country’s history, culture, ecology and contemporary life. The images are from the publication New Perspectives: Dominican
Republic
, an initiative of FUNGLODE and GFDD. The photo exhibit captures scenes from the provinces of Samaná, La Altagracia, Santiago Rodríguez, Santo Domingo, Pedernales, Barahona, Monte Cristi, Valverde, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Espaillat, Salcedo, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, San Cristóbal, San José, Azua, La Vega,
San José de Ocoa, Sánchez Ramírez, Peravia, Monseñor Nouel, Independencia, Bahoruco, Elías Piña and Dajabón.

Through the exhibit, GFDD and FUNGLODE seek to disseminate information about cultural and ecological heritage of the Dominican Republic.
