GFDD, FUNGLODE and UNA-DR Organize Youth of the Americas Forum in Haiti

July 6, 2009

The United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR), Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in conjunction with Haitian Action for the United Nations (AHNU), will organize the Youth of the Americas Forum and subsequent community service week in Port-au-Prince,
Haiti on August 13-21, 2009.

The Forum, which will take place within the framework of the Second Haitian Model United Nations Conference, seeks to provide an opportunity for international, Dominican and Haitian students to discuss and design development strategies and later implement development projects in Haiti. All students participating in the Forum will also take part in the Community Service Week, during which they will participate in one of five Commitments to
Action with the Clinton Global Initiative already being executed in Port-au-Prince.
