GFDD, FUNGLODE, CSIS and Inter-American Dialogue Present: Panel Discussion on Constitutional Reform

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), the Center for Strategic Studies and Inter-American Dialogue will present a panel discussion on constitutional reform featuring keynote speaker, Leonel Fernández, President of the Dominican Republic and Honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE. The President’s address: “Constitutional Reform: Democracy and Rule of Law in the
Dominican Republic,” will emphasize the democratic processes taking place within the nation.
 
The panel will also include constitutional reform experts: José Miguel Insulza, Secretary General of the Organization of American States; Flavio Darío Espinal, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the White House; Claudio Grossman, Professor and Dean of Washington College of Law at American University; and
Rosario Espinal, Professor of Sociology at Temple University. The panel will be moderated by Roberto Alvarez, Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic to the Organization of American States.
 
The program will take place September 18, 2007, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.
