GFDD/Funglode’s ReCrearte Program, other Environmental Initiatives Join “Going Green Together” Project

October 15, 2015

GFDD/Funglode is pleased to announce its participation in the “Going Green Together” (Juntos Somos Verde) initiative, being held in the Ágora Mall through the entire month of October, with the aim of raising awareness on environmental protection.

The project activities are being held in the shopping center’s central atrium, with a program featuring talks, documentaries, and other activities related to
environmental protection.

Under the auspices of the “Going Green Together” (Juntos Somos Verde) initiative, several pro-environment and sustainable development organizations have come together to develop a 30-day
program with more than 60 green-themed talks and events.

This first edition of “Going Green Together” (Junto Somos Verde) is dedicated to the conservation of the Hispaniolan amazon, a bird in danger of extinction.

In the mall’s atrium, located on the second floor, ReCrearte artisans have exhibited hand-made products created through this GFDD/Funglode initiative.

The ReCrearte program
aims to raise awareness in the public of the three golden rules, or the 3Rs, for the proper management of solid wastes: reduce, reuse, and recycle. The workshops demonstrate and highlight the idea that recycling wastes and turning them into art could strengthen communities overall as well as their individual residents.
