May 6, 2019

Washington, DC. – As part of the 2019 Around the World Embassy Tour (AWET) celebrated in Washington, D.C. on May 4th, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) joined the Dominican Republic Embassy to the United States in promoting the Dominican culture and heritage. This annual event brings together thousands of Washingtonians and tourists that visit different embassies to learn more about the countries and their traditions.

The Dominican Embassy opened its doors and visitors enjoyed merengue dancing performances, rum tastings, handmade arts and crafts from local artisans and much more.

GFDD was there to promote its Portal DominicanaOnline.org, the most complete digital platform about the Dominican Republic, with the most relevant and interesting information about Dominican history and culture, the country’s economy, geography, customs and traditions, as well as practical information for Dominican citizens and the international public that visits the country. In addition, GFDD gave away two copies of its “All Things Dominican” publication, available in Amazon: www.amazon.com
