Human Rights Watch International Film Festival

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) participated in the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival (HRWIFF). The festival took place in New York’s Lincoln Center, June 14 – 28, 2007.
 
Human Rights Watch’s International Film Festival premiers narrative, documentary, and
animated films pertaining to pressing human rights concerns. These films provide insights into the struggles taking place worldwide to preserve individual freedoms and human dignity.
 
During HRW’s International Film Festival, GFDD representative, Patricia Brito presented the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF), highlighting the Festival’s objectives, as well as the potential films to be screened during
this year’s festival, scheduled to take place November 14 – 18, 2007, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
 
DRGFF seeks to raise awareness and deepen understanding of global issues, while bringing the best of international narrative and documentary film to the Dominican Republic, as part of its overall mission to actively contribute to shaping and enhancing the nation’s film culture.
