InteRDom Participates in the Second Annual Dominican Student Conference in New York City

March 3, 2008
The internship program, InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), participated this Saturday, March 1, 2008, in the Second National Dominican Student Conference at New York University.

Bella Quisqueya, the Dominican Student Organization at NYU, organized this activity, which served as a
point of reference for all Dominican students carrying-out undergraduate and graduate studies at academic institutions in the United States.

Students from across the country participated in this event, which promoted exchange initiatives between students, communities of Dominican residents in the United States, and the Dominican Republic. It also provided a space in which to recognize the work of Dominicans that have developed
successful careers in the United States, the impact of their success on their communities of origin, as well as the influence Dominican students have on the colleges and universities where they study.

During the Second National Conference of Dominican Students at New York University, InteRDom not only presented its student internship program, it also promoted exchange initiatives and made available high-quality informative resources
amongst the Dominican community, which seek to facilitate exchange of social experiences and academic research.
