Sabores Dominicanos Foundation Recognizes DominicanaOnline for Its Contributions to Spread the Dominican Gastronomy

April 8, 2017

For their support in broadcasting information about Dominican gastronomy and for the success of the Third Gastronomic Forum (Foro Gastronómico), the consortium Fundación Sabores Dominicanos (FSD) recognized journalists and media, as well as professors and members of the Pan-American Confederation of Schools for Hospitality, Gastronomy and Tourism ( CONPEHT, for its acronym in Spanish) on April 6. The GFDD Dominicanaonline portal was one of those
appreciated “for their support in the dissemination of contents about Dominican gastronomy.” Arsenia Miranda, from the GFDD team, recieved recognition in Santo Domingo.

The tributes were given during a ceremony in the Parque Mirador Sur -where FSD is located- and was led by Luis Marino López and Bolívar
Troncoso, general coordinator of the foundation and president of FSD, respectively. The event concluded with a typical Dominican breakfast, “coherent with the philosophy of giving value to products and recipes that distinguish and identify us” explained the organizers.

To thank the journalists and professors at the event, Bolívar Troncoso advocated for the harmony and integration of the two sectors with the objective of promoting, alongside
the FSD “the declaration of our gastronomy as intangible cultural heritage of our country and of humanity for UNESCO.”

Troncoso recalled how he, Luis Marino López and Juan Febles, “three adventurous noise makers,” developed FSD more than three years ago and among their achievements are the Third Gastronomic Forum, the Sabores Dominicanos portal and many other initiatives that will be announced in the future.

“All of this is thanks to the valuable support of the press specialized in gastronomy and tourism and thanks to the 16 schools that form the Dominican”

Chapter of CONPEHT”, he added, to highlight that “this is a national project in which we have to engage everyone.”
