San Juan de la Maguana Welcomes the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival Once Again

From September 9 to 12, San Juan de la Maguana will be one of the 11 cities to welcome this year the 5th annual Dominican Environmental Film Festival, an initiative of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode). The Monina Cámpora Cultural Center is the chosen stage for activities and free screenings. On Wednesday, September 9th, at 6:00 pm, the inauguration of the festival will take place with the
screening of the documentary The Wisdom to Survive and the participation of the producer Angela Alston and other special guests from the country and elsewhere.

The announcement was made in this city with the presence of the regional Director of Culture, Ángelo Valenzuela; the Associate Director of Communications of Funglode, Jenny Almonte; and the Distributor of Printed Materials, Arsenia Miranda.

Many local media outlets were present during the morning of Thursday, August 27 at the Monina Cámpora Cultural Center to learn about the details of this year’s Dominican Environmental Film Festival in San Juan de la Maguana.

In addition, on Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00 am, the new short feature from the
GFDD/Funglode, Valor Vital, will be shown, and on Thursday, September 10 at 10:00 am, there will be a program of short films for children. On this same date, at 6:00 pm, the documentary Ice Bear will be shown. Later, on Friday, September 11, Como cambiar el mundo will be shown at 6:00 pm and on Saturday, September 12, Gambling on Extinctionwill be shown at 6:00 pm.
