The Newly Appointed Executives of ASOVEUSA Meet with GFDD Team in New York

The Asociación de Veganos en los Estados Unidos (ASOVEUSA – Association of La Vega Residents in the US) visited GFDD’s New York Office yesterday, to acknowledge the sustained support of the foundation and reaffirm the commitment to continue the collaboration between the institutions.

The new executives of ASOVEUSA, who took office in February, were welcomed by GFDD’s New York Office Director, Yamile Eusebio, and Kenia Hernández, Administrator of the GFDD New York
Office, who gifted them with a copy of Lo Dominicano/All Things Dominican. The newly appointed President of ASOVEUSA Virgen Meléndez attended the meeting, accompanied by the Public Relations Coordinator, Sandy Ramos, and the Operations Manager Sergio Hernández.

During the meeting a book launch of Lo Dominicano/All Things Dominican, to be held in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, in the month of April, was arranged. Other future projects within the framework of collaboration between the two
institutions were discussed.

GFDD/Funglode has been awarded by ASOVEUSA, on several occasions, during their annual galas where they recognize various Dominican individuals and institutions that stand out for their support of citizens of La Vega who live abroad. The purpose of the Association of La Vega Residents is to organize their community abroad, to assist and help the most disadvantaged members, and at the same time contribute to the protection of the environment of the
province.
