GFDD, FUNGLODE and Virtual Educa Caribe Will Present Latin American Forum on Water and Environment During Virtual Educa Zaragoza
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and Virtual Educa Caribe (VEC), in coordination with the International Water and Environment Center (CIAMA) and the Government of Aragón’s Environment Office, will present the “Latin American Forum on Water and Environment,” Thursday, July 17, 2008. The event will form part of the Zaragoza 2008 Water Expo.

GFDD, FUNGLODE, Alianza ONG and ITLA Offer Course on Windows Operating Systems
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in collaboration with the Alianza ONG and the Instituto Tecnológico de las Americas (Technical Institute of the Americas – ITLA), are offering a course on introductory computer usage to non-governmental organization representatives. Throughout the class, participants will develop working knowledge of the functions of the Windows Operating Systems (Word, PowerPoint, Excel),
as well as Internet usage.

Students Awarded Scholarships by Global Media Arts Institute Begin Academic Program at New York University
The six Dominican students awarded scholarships by GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) to study television and film production at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts began their six-week academic program on July 7, 2008.

Training Session on Environmental Law for Judges from Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in association with the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, DC, the United Nations Environment Programme, the Escuela Nacional de Judicatura (National School of Judicial Studies) in the Dominican Republic, the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, and Konbit Pou Ayiti (KONPAY) in Haiti, will organize a training program for judges from the Dominican Republic,
Haiti and Jamaica on environmental law.

GFDD, FUNGLODE and ANU-RD Will Offer Seminar-Workshop for Journalists on the UN and Global Issues
The United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR), Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), have united with officials from the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI), and in particular, with the United Nations Information Center, representing Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, to design the First Regional Seminar-Workshop for Journalists on the United Nations and Global
Issues.

As members of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with consultative status, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) were invited to participate in the ECOSOC Innovation Fair, June 30 -July 3, 2008, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm at UN Headquarters in New York City.
