New Perspectives of the Dominican Republic Exhibition Major Success

GFDD and FUNGLODE Officially Open the Juan Bosch Library
On Monday, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) officially re-opened its Documentation and Information Management Center, renaming it the Juan Bosch Library. The dedication of the library was attended by various donors whose contributions made possible the construction of the new facility. Many influential academics and intellectuals were present at the event, in addition to Dominican President Leonel
Fernández, Honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE, and Carmen Quidiello, widow of the honored Professor Juan Bosch.

GMAI Staff Member Participates in TeleSUR Training Program in Venezuela
Jesús Frías, a Global Media Arts Institute staff member, is presently participating in the teleSUR training program, “Audiovisual Journalism,” in Venezuela, in order to strengthen the capabilities of GMAI in the areas of broadcast journalism, audiovisual editing and television production.

Marco Herrera Appointed New FUNGLODE Executive Director
Marco Herrera is the new Executive Director of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE). His appointment was announced on Wednesday by the organization’s Honorary President, Dr. Leonel Fernández, during a small event held at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Award Scholarship to Dominican Student to Study at EICTV in Cuba
In April of this year, GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), in collaboration with the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV – International School for Television and Film) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, held EICTV entrance exams for Dominican Students between the ages of 22 and 29.
