Latin American Leaders Agree that it is Vital to Boost Virtual Technology to Strengthen Education Without Borders
GFDD and FUNGLODE were represented at the opening of the XII Meeting of Virtual Educa in Mexico on “Educational Innovation for Development without Borders,” where Latin American leaders expressed the importance of modernizing the education systems in the region and the gradual incorporation of new information technologies into their daily activities.

On Thursday, June 23, 2011, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) the 2011 Global Showcase on International Education, sponsored by the NAFSA Embassy Dialogue Committee on Education (EDC) and the US Department of State’s Education USA Program.

InteRDom Presents Workshop on Culture and Identity on Thursday, June 30 at FUNGLODE and GFDD
As part of its agenda of summer programs, InteRDom will present an interesting workshop on Caribbean culture and identity for students featuring Dominican anthropologist and folklorist, Xiomara Fortuna, one of the leading experts in Afro-Caribbean fusion.

FUNGLODE and GFDD Conference focuses on “Disaster Preparedness” in the Dominican Republic.
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the DR Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will be organizing a conference to assess the Disaster Preparedness of the Dominican Republic based on lessons gained during, and following, Haiti’s devastating Earthquake in January, 2010.

August 2011 Launch of English Language Website for Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE
In August, 2011, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Foundation Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will launch the English language website of the Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment.

Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival Dates Announced by GFDD and FUNGLODE, 7-11 September, 2011
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the DR Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) announced the dates of a new initiative, the DR Environment Film Festival, which will be held 7-11 September in Santo Domingo and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
