GFDD and FUNGLODE Endorses Organization of American States (OAS) Scholarship Program Offering Opportunities for Master’s Studies in Brazil
The OAS Department of Human Development, Education and Culture has announced its new “OAS Scholarships Program – Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities”, through which up to 50 scholarships are being offered for Master’s studies at Brazilian universities.

Director of Film to be Presented at the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) Wins Top Humanitarian Award
One of the invited international guests to the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, has won a special humanitarian award in Canada for his climate change films and work with the United Nations.

GFDD Will Partake in 2011 Annual APSA Meeting
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will participate in the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association to take place September 1-4, 2011 in Seattle, Washington.

Opening Reception of New Perspectives: Dominican Republic at The City College of New York rescheduled for September 13
Due to inclement weather, GFDD and FUNGLODE regret to inform you that an opening reception of the New Perspectives Photo Exhibit at CUNY – originally slated for Tuesday, August 30th — has had to be rescheduled.

Photo Exhibit: New Perspectives: Dominican Republic to open at the University of Rhode Island Providence Campus this Fall in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) & Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will host their ninth photo exhibit entitled New Perspectives: Dominican Republic, in collaboration with the Urban Arts & Cultural Program of the University of Rhode Island Providence Campus. The official dates of the Exhibit will be September 12 through October 31, 2011 which coincides with Rhode Island’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Exhibit at CCNY Showcases Dominican Republic From the Sky
Now you can see the Dominican Republic from the sky without boarding an airplane. Just visit “New Perspectives: Dominican Republic,” a new exhibit of 56 aerial photographs, August 30 through October 31 at the Amsterdam Plaza on the City College of New York.

GFDD and FUNGLODE present the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival, September 8 – 11, 2011
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the DR, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), announced the dates of a new initiative, the DR Environment Film Festival, which will be held on September 8 – 11, 2011, in Santo Domingo and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
