  • InteRDom Announces 2011 Annual Conference: Good Management Practices for Internship Programs

    The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) present the 7th Annual Conference given by its internship, research and academic exchange program, InteRDom (Internships in the Dominican Republic) October 12-13 in their headquarters in Santo Domingo.

  • President of Dominican Republic Delights in Aerial Photos Depicting The Country

    Dr. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic and Honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE, on a trip to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly, took the opportunity to visit the photo exhibit “New Perspectives: Dominican Republic”, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, located at the City University of New York (CUNY) until October 31.

  • GFDD and FUNGLODE Recognize DR’s Leadership Role in Disaster Management

    “The Dominican Republic should be proud for having helped hundreds of thousands of Haitians who have suffered due to the earthquake that struck the nation in 2010,” applauded the head of the Americas Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Stephen C. Johnson, at the beginning of the panel titled “The diplomacy of the disaster: local and international responses”, which was held at FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo.

  • Environmental Documentary Screens to a Full House at FUNGLODE’s Auditorium

    As part of its follow up to the very successful I DR Environmental Film Festival, GFDD and FUNGLODE hosted a special screening of environmental documentary Dirt! The Movie at FUNGLODE auditorium last Friday, September 16 at 7pm. The movie, which played to a full house, was the first in a series of monthly screenings by both institutions that will be dedicated to covering themes related to the environment.
