Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival Joins Forces with Universidad APEC to Celebrate 2012 Environment Week
As part of its mission to elevate awareness of environmental challenges and to promote protection of the natural world and its resources, the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), is joining forces with Universidad APEC in celebration the 2012 Environment Week.

InteRDom Presents Urban Gardening Workshop for Participants in 2012 CCNY Service Learning Program
In preparation for the summer 2012 Service Learning Program in the Dominican Republic, InteRDom Internships, together with the Global Coalition for Peace (GCFP) and the Study Abroad office at the City College of New York (CCNY), presented an urban gardening workshop and practicum on Friday, May 25th to the participants enrolled in the program.

Dominican Get-together is Celebrating the Dominican Music on July 5th in New York at the United Nations Headquarters, in the Dag Hammarskjold Auditorium from 6 – 8pm
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations come together to showcase the beauty and the history of Dominican music, from its very early days to the contemporary rhythms of today.

GFDD Attends High Level Debate on State of the World Economy
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development attended the High Level Thematic Debate (HLTD) on the State of the World Economy and Finance in 2012, held in New York on 17-18 May 2012, under the sponsorship of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban-ki Moon (SG) and the President of the General Assembly (PGA) H. E. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser.

DREFF Will Present Discussion Panel on National Recycling Initiatives and Screening of Documentary Film Bag It!
On Wednesday, May 30, at 7:00 pm, the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of GFDD, will organize a program on recycling at FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo, which will feature a panel discussion with key societal actors behind the country’s recycling and green living movement, followed by the screening of the documentary film Bag It!. Admission is free and open to the public.

Stellar Haitian-Dominican Friendship Concert, Co-organized by GFDD
The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, The Smithsonian Latino Center, The Embassy of the Dominican Republic, The Embassy of Haiti, The Dominican Republic Tourist Board, in partnership with Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), presented the Haitian-Dominican Friendship Concert.
